Why is it that mid priced hotels entice you with free breakfast, but the expensive places expect you to buy your own?
Gee Whiz, I am giving you enough to pay my mortgage, you could at least feed me.
Oh, about the picture, everyone wants to see a polar bear in Alaska, so there is usually one on display somewhere, even though they range much further north.
Unique Suggestions: If there is a conference at the hotel, they usually lay out food at various times during the day. Act like you belong, and grab a plate.
There was a teachers conference at the resort during my stay, so I crashed the food line and met some teachers, and had a good time. I never told them I was a teacher nor with their group, but then again, they never asked.
Fun Alternatives: Rather than stay in the resort, if breakfast is that important to you, try one of the many Bed and Breakfasts in the Area, like the one run by Bud and Carol.
