49th State Brewing is a great place to eat and have a few cold beverages after a long day in the Denali Park. There is a wide selection of microbrews to chose from as well as the standards. The place was busy but not overly crowded.
The food and service were both excellent and a band was playing the evening we were there. There is also a photo op with the bus from the movie Into The Wild.
Favorite Dish:
Friday night pig roast!!!
This place is a true Alaskan diner/roadhouse. A popular stop on the George Parks Highway in Healy for tourists, outdoorsmen, and truckers alike. Typical Alaska-American food served proudly. They also have some Thai/Asian dishes-I think the owner may be Asian. No alcohol, but wonderful fresh-brewed iced tea. Good prices for the Alaskan interior.
Favorite Dish:
You've got to try to tackle the Grizzly Burger...one pound of ground beef with ham, cheese and a fried egg. Eat the whole thing and be immortalized with your picture on Rose's wall!
Well this isn't a restaurant but it's a good place to get gas when your traveling long distances. We bought juice and some cinnamon rolls for breakfast. I think my son bought some licorice too. That the greatest breakfast but we forgot to ask at the motel where we could get some real breakfast and we wanted to get on the road.
It's got your regular line-up of essential groceries and junk food......chips , soda, canned snacks, jerky etc....also Ice,Payphone, Atm.....There is also a Deli for some sandwiches.
I always liked the steaks at Clear Sky Lodge.
Nothing special, used to have good music on the juke box and a level pool table.
Favorite Dish:
New york steak, baked spud and salad. Used to get a free drink if you climbed up on the rafters.
