After a decade or so of having Downtown Harborside be my exclusive coffee shop on Kodiak Island my experience today will have me changing my "coffee auto-pilot". Of the 4 employees working (1 girl in training) they rather make small talk then serve coffee. Leaving me in line to wait while they hear about the new hunting dog the customer in front of me got, and where he plans on hunting. At one point in the conversation they ask if they are keeping him from something and he mentions that he can hang out all day and they continue there conversation. The experience from there just went downhill. This time they customer service of one patron led to the losing of another patron.
Favorite Dish:
Brew Coffee
This small coffee shop/bakery is the coffee shop of choice for the town's fisherman who either don't own vehicles or who's Pinto is currently being parted out. The coffee isn't great, but the girls are serving it- and that's what it's all about.
Favorite Dish:
Enjoy a cup of coffee and a baked good... soups sometimes available.
If you have a calling card, Harborside offers a phone so you don't have to pay connection fees.
Favorite Dish:
Along with all kinds of coffees, teas, smoothies, they also have pastries, bagels, and soup.
