Upon first entering Pancho's, one cannot help noticing the obvious care and thoughtfulness that went into selecting the decor. Beautiful ceiling fans with whale bladder blades, Teardrop lanterns fashioned from Beluga scrotum and table coverings made from reindeer pancreas beckon one to come in and relax. Pancho Ongunkliat, the chef/owner/host/somallier/bus boy/sous chef/salad tosser, is ready to seat you in a flash. His Inuit/Mexican heritage is immediately evidenced in his demeanor. His father, a Mexican druglord on the rum from the Federales, settled on Little Diomede where he met Pancho's mother, a native Inuit. He was smitten! ( or so the story goes) Nine months later...out popped Pancho. A natural born entrepreneur, Pancho truly deserves his title " King of the Little Diomede Tex Mex restaurants" !
