Captain Bligh

To get to Long Island you would have to either make a friend in Kodiak or charter one of the local boats. I'm not sure of the cost of a charter. It is about a 30 minute ride from the boat harbor in the city of Kodiak. If you are going to ride in an open skiff be sure to dressed for the conditions..Waterproof Everything!! haha Jacket, Boots you will want boots so you don't soak your feet getting in and out of the skiff. There isn't any dock so you would be jumping out of the skiff into the water...nothing sucks more than hiking all day in freezing weather with soaking wet fee!!.....You might take freezing spray on your face if you go in the colder months....It can be cold even in the summer time. At the right time of year you can spot Orcas and other Whales in the area.

The Chariot

This is my friends Chariot. It is quite a seaworthy skiff. But even saying that...there are limits to what he will go into at this time of year....Winter can be a killer if you fall into the water.
