The Twin Dragon restaurant is on Front Street, a few blocks from the Iditarod finish line. I stopped in on a cold day in March for a hot meal. I ordered the Hot and Sour Soup. It was delicious. The wait time was minimal. And, the price was fair. No complaints!
Favorite Dish: I only had the soup. But, they have a variety of chinese food. Pizza, too, if I remember correctly.

The Polar Cafe is not the kind of place one goes for a fine meal, but it does offer a place to eat with a wide open view of the Bearing Sea. I enjoyed my lunch here if for that reason alone. The entrance is in an alley just off Front Street. The furnishings were very basic but the dining room was clean and the service was acceptable.
Favorite Dish: I had the Chicken Fried Steak. It was obviously something they got frozen out of a box and threw into the fryer. It was OK.

Fat Freddies describes itself as a Family Restaurant and offers a complete menu for breakfast, lunch and dinner, although I only had the breakfast here. The "front" entrance is from a side alley just off Front Street, behind the Nome Nugget Inn, however one may also reach the restaurant by taking a hallway off the lobby of the Hotel.
When I was at Fast Freddies the place was bustling with both locals and tourists, so it seemed to be a very popular spot to eat. The breakfast was hot and tasty, and the views of the Bearing Sea made just being there a fun experience.

Subway just opened shop in 2003. Excellent food and service. Plus the best view of the Bering Sea. Huge picture windows right on Norton Sound. Gorgeous view and top-notch food. Cheap too! $5 for a foot-long sub. Fresh, clean and friendly.
For the price of admission, you can see a movie in the adjacent theatre. No walking outside. To get to the theatre, you walk through Subway shop. Bring your sandwich and enjoy the show!
Favorite Dish: Favorite: Veggie sandwich, extra cheese. Fresh ingredients make it a gastronomic delight.

All of the restaurants I visited had a cafe' atmosphere and served burgers, fries, chili, that sort of fare. I wanted crab and oysters!! There are a lot of Chinese and Pizza places. I was very disappointed in the choices of restaurants.
Favorite Dish: Nome does serve the best fish and chips I have ever tasted. Any large restaurant that you visit will serve up this dish, and it is like eating steak and lobster it is prepared so well. The price reflects it too!

Address: All restaurants are on Front Street
Favorite Dish: Nothing really special here, just some local grub that will certainly fill you up. When you come in from the cold, anything warm will do.

There are a few restaurants on Front Street. One of them, Burger King, appears not related to the national chain even though it shares the same name.
