There is lot's of Baseball played in the area. My only two trips to the Soldotna area have involved coaching Little League Baseball. The Soldotna Little League quite often is the host of the Southern Pool Championships for many levels of baseball as there are lot's of baseball fields that are maintained very well. With the extended daylight hours in the summer it's very easy to start a game at 8 P.M. and have it finished before it gets unsafe to see the ball.

Since my friend Bill and I, already caught our limit of one King salmon per day, maximum 2 per year, by noon on the first day of our trip, we decided to play golf at the local Birch Ridge golf course. The 9 hole course was fine for the Alaska wilderness. We had a good time. I think we were already fished out for the day!
