    Sal's is a quite a stop!! Lot's of local history on the walls and great food. Sal's is open 24 hours and serves breakfast 24 hours as well. Try the Cinnamon Bun it's about 5 inches tall and 8 inches across. One of our coaches bought one and it looked quite yummy. I had the 2 pieces of Chicken with JoJo's for $7.95. It was quite filling.

    I'm not sure of the statistics of how many humans die each year on the roads near Soldotna due to collisions with Moose but for the January - Mid July death rate for Moose has been 289 on the Kenai Peninsula roads. That's alot of dead Moose! If you have a collision with a moose it can be very dangerous for you especially if you're in a small car....

    If you're camping and are in need of showers there is a place on the Sterling Highway about 2 miles out of town past the Fred Meyer Shopping Center. It is a bit cheaper than the Wash N Dry in town. It is very clean. I didn't use it on this trip but I did use it 2 years ago. I think it was about $3 per shower.
