Wrangell Things to Do
See my travelogue for more info. But this is very pretty. Not only a land full of Native alaskan artifacts, a pretty spot, and nearby a nest of Bald Eagles....Related to:
In one of the pine trees on the right immediately before the Petroglyph Beach you should notice a nest for a Bald Eagle. if your lucky like i was your see it flying around. Wasn't able to take a picture though, but a friend did on her video camera.Related to:
A mile north of Wrangell is a newly designated state historic site where odd images are marked on rocks. From an age long past and a people who have long left, the meaning of these markings are still a mystery. More then 40 are located along this stretch of beach, some easy to see, others almost impossible. This is the largest concentration of rock art in Southern Alaska and dated back some 8000 years. Replicas are located on the information/viewing platform. Still best though to scramble amongst the rocks and see them for yourself.Related to:

Wrangell Local Customs
This was very popular in America in the 1970's. No one in Wrangell has re-painted it? I'm not sure, but I thought it was cute.Related to:
