Discover the little creeks in Superstition Mtns.

Superstition mountains reveal countless hikes and walks around famous Weavers' Needle.
However, there is much more to explore in the park, as it is one of South West's last wilderness areas.
Little ponds, little creeks, all type of cactus species.

Step aside from the path and look around.

Canyon Lake is located just off Arizona Highway 88 "The Apache Trail". It is 10 miles long and has 28 miles of shoreline, and is next to Saguaro Lake on the west and Apache Lake on the east. There are lots of boating, camping and picnicking opportunities all along the shore. Game fish including Walleye, Trout, Bass, Bluegill, Catfish and Crappie abound in the lake. At the west end of the lake is the Precision Marina. The marina offers boat rentals, fishing equipment, and other services. If you do not have the time to stop at the lake, at least pull off the road at the Canyon Lake Vista and take in the view. Hours for the marina are 8AM to 6PM May through Labor Day; 8AM to 5PM Labor Day through November; 9AM to 4PM December through February; and 8AM to 5PM March and April.

Another nice place to pull off Arizona Highway 88 ("The Apache Trail") to relax, and take in some spectacular scenery is at the Fish Creek Canyon Viewpoint. Fish Creek Hill is famous for it's rugged scenery and the steep, narrow, winding descent into the canyon. Once down there you will see a pristine riparian area with groves of Sycamore, Ash, Cottonwood, Walnut and Willow trees.

    Apache Trail

The Apache Trail is another name for Arizona Highway 88. There are a number of places to see along the trail including Saguaro Lake; Canyon Lake; Apache Lake; Goldfield Ghost Town; Tortilla Flat; Fish Creek Canyon; and the Roosevelt Dam/Lake. The last 22 miles of this route (heading east) is a steep, windy, dirt road. DO NOT take this route if you are in a hurry. DO take this route if you want to take your time and see some spectacular scenery.
