This restaurant tip is for my fellow-Filipinos on VT and those interested in Filipino food!
Barrio Fiesta has been serving favorite Filipino dishes since I was a small child in Manila. There are branches here in America and one is in Chandler, Arizona.
They do serve roasted pig (also known as lechon), but my favorite is the crispy pata. I was impressed with how quickly they prepared this. The other dishes were okay, and the dessert halo-halo could have been better.
Internet reviews have not been so good because of the lack of quality service which I think the restaurant can work on. This is sad because Filipinos are known for their hospitality and friendliness. But, despite this, this is still a nice restaurant to go to if your are feeling "homesick" (for Filipino immigrants) and just want to have a taste of home... If you are curious about Filipino food, craving for Filipino food, or just hungry --- then head off to this little fast food joint in Chandler, Arizona! For just about $14, I could not believe how much food we got! We got the noddles called pansit, and two entrees with the rice (beef steak and roasted pork "lechon paksiw")...
Really an affordable place which seems to be busy with Asians and non-Asians eating inside and ordering to-go...The kitchen can be seen immediately behind the counter and you can see how quickly they prepare the food.

An unusual place it has african decor/animal patterned decor. Elephant door handles yet the food is a mixture of asian dishes and mexican dishes plus pizza

Hong Kong Buffer is popular because of the variety, and the food is really good. They have Chinese food, steaks, salads, sushi bar, desserts - eat all you can!

If you are really hungry and fancy some different foods, this is one place to go. Dinner is $12.95 and its all you can eat. there is a mongolian grill, sushi bar, salad bar and then various other foods, mainly chiense but also has mashed potatoes!!! It has a chain store feel to it, kind of like an american diner layout. Quick food and lots of it, including deserts. Very convenient location, in Chandler Fashion Center. This is a popular hang-out place. They serve good 'pulutan' (food you take with drinks) like sushi, pizza. Good crowd and atmosphere.

Honestly, the first time I ever ate here I said to myself before I even finished the salad bar, "This is the BEST food I have EVER eaten in my LIFE!" I swear! And the main dining experience only confirmed that...in spades!
I have eaten here mant times since, and have never had cause to revise my opinion. My wife and my in-laws, who are the only guests I've shared meals with here, agree.
And this IS a dining experience, not just a restaurant.
Fogo E Brasa is a true Brazilian churrascaria.
You are given a traffic-light-like baton, set it on the table with the green end up. First, a group of side dishes will be brought to your table and their use explained. Then, a parade of cummerbunded meat chefs steadily flow to your table with skewers of meats and sometimes pineapples for you to choose at your leisure.
Turn the red end of the baton up and you get a respite until the green is shown again.
Lay the baton on its side in surrender, and they will bring the dessert cart around...if you can possibly accomodate it.
One patron has christened this "a carnivore's dream" Hear, hear!
The salad bar for starters, then top sirloin, their small linguisa sausages, little cheesebread puffs, fried bananas with slices of pineapple, turkey wrapped in bacon, and tri-tip beef.
Make SURE to only try small portions of the award-winning appetizer bar, or you will NOT be able to savor the full joy of the main dining experience!
Also, the desserts are heavenly but $5 each. We always skip this cuz there's never room anyhow!
This is a fun and a special experience. It's expensive but very worth it on special occasions...or when you want to make a special occasion.
