There is a museum on site that contains memorabilia of the life of Melvin Jones and the formation and organization of the Lions Club. Unfortunately, there are no set hours. The museum is only open if a member happens to be there. It was not open when I was there.

On 13 January 1879 on the small cavalry outpost of Camp Thomas in the Territory of Arizona Melvin Jones was born. He lived in the area for the first eight years of his life and frequently stated he had a special place in his heart for the area.
Melvin Jones went on to found the Lions Club which has grown into one of the largest service organizations in the world. In 1965, after years of effort, the Safford Lions Club established this memorial to honor Jones and his idea of service to others.
It is a very impressive sight and should be a must see for all Lions Club members.
