    Little Italy: Molto Bene! Mangiamo!

by razorbacker Written Aug 5, 2011

Under its Sicilian owners "Little Italy" has much better Italian fare than one would ever expect in little Gila Bend. We're just glad they decided to set up their homestead here! Buona fortuna!

Favorite Dish: Mine was Penne al Pesto. Brenda had Spaghetti alle Vongole, but her favorite as always - and the one we always sample looking for perfection - is the Insalata Caprese.

Cafe Charo: Chain of Mexican Fast Food

by Basaic Updated Dec 17, 2010
    Cafe Charo

I had seen the signs for Cafe Charo but had never stopped there. It is a chain restaurant like Taco Bell but with a more limited menu and, to me at least, less tasty food. Stick with Sofia's.

Favorite Dish: The taco platter was not that good.

    Space Age Restaurant: Great Breakfast

    Space Age Restaurant

The night I stayed at the Space Age Hotel included a free breakfast at the Space Age Restaurant which is co-located with the hotel. The decor was pretty interesting with a large mural of what looks a lot like the USS Enterprise but is named the Outer Limits due to copyright issues. They also had a number of other space related decorations some real some fictional. The food was very good. I had breakfast but I heard lunch and dinner is quite good too. The staff was friendly.

Favorite Dish: I had a great ham and cheese omelet with a side of bacon.

The Space Age Restaurant: Yummy Pie with a Space Theme

by galaxyrain Updated Jan 24, 2009

    2.5 out of 5 starsHelpfulness

This little diner was a different stop along the I-8. It has a 60's space theme to it. It is not the original one, which burned down years ago. My expectations were more than what it was, but it was still fun.

Favorite Dish: We were not that hungry, so we ordered pie and it was delicious. Blueberry, apple, and cherry were what we tried.

Sofia's Mexican Restaurant: Good Mexican Food

by Basaic Written Sep 11, 2007

    3.5 out of 5 starsHelpfulness

    Sofia's Mexican Restaurant

The decor is simple; but the food is well prepared and authentic. The staff was friendly enough. Sofia's appears very popular with the locals.

    Favorite Dish: Great Chile Rellenos.
