Sunset/Sunrise, Grand Canyon National Park
Fondest memory: Woke up early after sleeping nearly 12 hours. Had to walk around a bit to get the stiffness out of my legs. As I ket insisting the day before, the sun did come out. I managed to catch a glimpse of it as it rose over the canyon rim above, creating daybreak in our world below.
Favorite thing: The colors change throughout the day. To truly appreciate the Grand Canyon it is necessary to watch a new day arrive and to still be present at the conclusion. Therefore, I strongly recommend that arrangements for overnight accomodations be made in advance. It would be a shame to travel all that way and miss the Canyon at its most glorious.
Favorite thing: Arising before dawn and watching the dark crevices come to life in the new morning's light is a terrific experience.
