    We found that, traveling with children, it was wise to have breakfast, start early, stop mid-morning and mid-afternoon for gas, and then stop for the day in time so the kids could play or go to the motel pool (if the weather was good enough) in the afternoon before dinner. This park was a good place for an afternoon stop.

    The Grand Canyon Caverns has limestone walls formed in prehistoric times by an inland sea. Fossils and the bones of long-extinct animals have been found in the Caverns. Although Grand Canyon Caverns has been open to the public for over 73 years, each year new discoveries and deeper wonders are uncovered.
