Anteleope Slot Canyon Tours took us along with our friend Vere to the Antelope Canyon trip, the owner and operator, Ray Tsosie is fantastic, you can see him playing his flute to demonstrate the sound qualities in the canyon on those pages. He takes you out to the canyon in his 4 wheel drive vehicle and shows you the beautiful wonders of Antelope Canyon (called Tse bighanilini in Navajo). The cost for a tour at the time (August 2005) was US$20 per person.
Okay, this here houseboat in privately owned. But again Wahweap does rent out much better looking houseboat.
Just the whole mess of us went out for 3 day and enjoy the cool night breeze, and the toastee summer sun in the afternoon.
Enjoy a hearty Prime Rib or vegetarian lasagna dinner aboard the Canyon King paddle wheeler to witness the lake's late-afternoon trasformation as colors soften from deep reds and burnt oranges to lavender, ginger and silver...what a sight to be whole.
Also take a one-hour cruise around Wahweap Bay on the Canyon King, a 1800s-style paddle wheeler, to fully enjoy some of Lake Powell's unique rock formations surrounding Wahweap Bay
On lake Powell only boats will give you the opportunity to discover every corner of this wide stretched and lake with many arms. By road (car/bus) there are only few places in reach. A map makes it maybe little clearer, so ...
Go by car, motorhome or motorcycle.
Get in Flagstaff on Highway 89 and go north. Or get from Kanab, UT south on Highway 89.
From Monument Valley get on Highway 98 between Kayenta and Tuba City.
No big city, means no public transportation. But pretty much everything is on Lake Powell Boulevard and since you will probably come on your own by car, don't worry about the 'rush hour' in Page.
From Flagstaff go north to the South Rim of Grand Canyon. Then drive east around the east end of Grand Canyon and after that go north to Page. The road leads through Navajo country. I remember a lot of Native American roadside souvenir sellers. Will never forget Chief Yellow Horse. He had one stand somewhere on the road in the middle of nowhere with great advertisements. Every few hundred feet stretching several miles before and after his stand he had billboards at the highway. From '20 miles to Chief Yellow Horse', 'Buy Indian jewelry at Chief Yellow Horse', 'Only 5 miles more to go to Chief Yellow Horse' to 'Oops, you missed Chief Yellow Horse' and 'Turn around. Stop at Chief Yellow Horse'. Does anybody know, whether he´s still there? By the way, I didn´t stop, but I wish I had.

This here is a rental boat from Wahweap with a outboard motor, v-hull. She can pull two water skiers at high speed. Here are friends of mine from France and S. F. Ca., enjoying the Arizona sun.
