The Gathering Grounds is a combination coffeeshop, ice cream parlor, deli, and restaurant. They have the usual breakfast fare plus a Veggie Bagel for the health concious. Lunch tends toward soup and sandwiches with a number of healthy items. They also have a soup and a sandwich of the day. It is open 7 days a week from 7 AM to 5 PM. They also serve dinner from 6 PM to 8 PM Firday and Saturday.
Favorite Dish: I had the Acorn Squash with Nuts Soup. It was pretty good and very healthy.
This is a perfect place to grab a non fattening meal like a plate of Salad or a sandwich. I used to work at the Montessori School, so my colleague and I used to order sandwiches from the Gathering Grounds. The restaurant is also owned by a friend and colleague with whom I worked, also at the Montessori School.
Jena and her husband provide great service. The interior of the restaurant is filled with great art from local artists, the art is for sale so you can actually purchase one that you like. I returned to Patagonia recently and thought I would grab a bite from there, I ordered a garden salad with vinaigrette. I also ordered a bowl of soup to warm me up, great bean soup you should try that for $3.50.
Great place to meet for coffee, lunch or dinner.
As you might guess the theme of the Home Plate Restaurant revolves around baseball. Old time baseball. There is memorabilia about "The Babe", the old Yankees and even a signed photograph of Ernie Banks. Food and service are both good too.
Favorite Dish: I had a very good Ham and Cheese Omelet.
