Chinese: Chinese buffet
  • Tip Rating:
  • The food was very good for an all-you-can-eat restaurant and not very expensive.

    The hot buffet of course!!!

    Chinese: China Gate
  • Tip Rating:
  • Atmosphere was fine...not particularly charming but suitable. Prices were moderate. ($7-$11 for an entree)

I love Chinese food...and I am always in search of a place to find delicious hot and sour soup AND good crab rangoon. The hot and sour soup was fabulous--highly-recommended. Their crab rangoon was pretty good...lots of crab but I wasn't crazy about the way they rolled up the pastry. They are called 'Crab Angels.' I like the ones that have more of a soft, squishy pocket of cream cheese and crab. Okay...I'm sure that's way more detail than you needed!

  • This very eclectic menu has a strong Chinese influence but tends to borrow from other Pan-Asian dishes. Everything is served family style but usually is enough for 1 and a 1/2 people. All restaurants are non-smoking and usually have a wait for dinner of at least 30 minutes.

The Vegetarian Lettuce Wraps are my absolute favorite but the Kung Pao Chicken is a close second!

Chinese: Stay away from this one.

  • We decided to get take out as soon as we walked into the restaurant (only because of we were too hungry and tired to look for another place). The ambience just kills your appetite.
The hostess / staff was friendly but absent minded. She made all kinds of mistakes with our order.
The size of the entrees is unbelievably small for take out (probably better if we had eaten in). Each entree comes with a tiny styrofoam cup of rice (our steam rice has black specks on them).
The dish "Jumbo shrimps and sauteed scallop" has 4 medium sized shrimps and a few pieces of broken scallops with lots of green onions and some ginger in a watery salty sauce. It costs $8.00.
All 3 dishes are salty with little flavours. The so called Cantonese fried noodle used unknown type of noodle (not the typical egg noodle). The beef in a stir fry beef dish is so tough that you wonder what cut of beef do they use.
