    MacAlpine's: Old Fashioned Ice Cream

    by AVG2319 Written Sep 11, 2008

A part of Arizona's history, this nostalgic restaurant is located in downtown Phoenix. They have been in this same location since the late 1920's. If you are in Phoenix stop by to get an old fashion Phosphate water (quite good), malts, ice cream soda, or homemade soups and sandwiches.

    Favorite Dish: Classic Chocolate Malt.
Flavored Phosphate water is good too and so are the ice cream sodas.

Mary Coyle: 1950's style icecream place

by leplaya Updated Mar 7, 2008

Mary Coyle is a great place to go after hiking up one of the many mountains in the Phoenix area. It was opened in 1951 and looks like it hasn't changed much since then (well, except for the prices). There are a lot of icecream options and their specials are pretty good. They also have warm food, but I didn't try any. The prices are a little expensive at around $7 for the specials.

This is a fantastic icecream shop. It has about 40 flavours of ice cream made fresh on the premises.

Choose a variety of mix ins

Favorite Dish: One of my favourites is cheesecake flavour with an oreo mix in.
