Favorite thing: Quijotoa is a tiny place on Arizona Highway 86 in the Tohono O'odham Reservation. They have a small convenience store there and little else (I stopped here for a drink). Quijotoa is a Papago word meaning "Mountain shaped like a carrying basket". The town thrived very briefly around 1883 when a gold and silver vein was discovered here. The town and its environs died out quickly when the ore was not found to be that rich or plentiful.
