There is also a very nice meditating garden on the monastery grounds. It is open to the public; but no children are allowed inside the meditating area. There is a bridge over the pond with various religious symbols on it. A sign by the bridge explains the significance of the symbols.

Construction of the Our Lady of Guadalupe Church began on 12 December 1974, and was dedicated on 24 June 1981. It is a very pretty place and quite peaceful.

The Holy Trinity Benedictine Monastery, which was founded in 1974, on the outskirts of town is open to the public. They have a Guest Office and Bookstore near the entrance. Its hours are Monday through Friday 9 AM to 11:30 AM and 2 PM to 4 PM (closed Wednesday afternoon); 9 AM to 11:30 AM and 2:30 PM to 4 PM on Saturday and 11:30 AM to 1:30 PM on Sunday. You are free to walk the grounds of the monastery just stay out of the housing area out of respect for the monks privacy. They have a large cross where you can pray, a very nice cathedral, and a meditating garden.

The decor in the Tiger Den Cafe includes lots of paintings of tigers, tiger figurines and lots of coffee cups hanging from the walls and rafters. It appears to be a small family run place. The food is mostly breakfast, soups and chili, sandwiches (to include burgers and hot dogs), and shrimp, chicken and catfish baskets. Service was attentive and polite. Hours are 8 AM to 4 PM Tuesday through Friday; AM to 4 PM Saturday and Sunday. They are closed on Mondays.
Favorite Dish: I had the Catfish basket served with fries and coleslaw. Pretty good. Portions were good too.

St David also has an upscale art gallery. The Gallery of Dreams is a family run concern which has a variety of art works for sale. They take consignments and have a number of rather impressive bronze works by the owner, Tim Trask. Be aware, however, most items in the gallery are not cheap. One of the bronze statues was $9500.00. They are open Wednesday to Saturday 10 AM to 6 PM, and Sunday 11 AM to 4 PM. The gallery is closed on Monday and Tuesday.
What to buy: Bronze statues, southwestern art, various other styles of art and sculpture.
