Greasewood Flat: Worth It

The Dance Floor and Music

The restaurant is open every day from 11am to 1am. There's live music Thursday - Sunday from 7pm on - this really is the time to come. Some will two step on the dance floor and others end up playing horseshoes. If it's cool, the fire pits will be roaring and you'll drink a beer huddled around them.

If you're hungry, try the green chili cheeseburger - very good! If not, there's plenty of beer and drinks to be found.

Dress Code: It takes all kinds to fill the tables at Greasewood Flat! Everyone from leather-clad bikers to city folk end up here on a weekend night. Cowboy boots and a hat fit right in as well - it's definitely a western bar atmosphere.

So this is one of the newer, cool places to go in Scottsdale, a bit North of most of the action. If Spanish wines are your thing, you must drop by. Cool, lively music gives a nice touch to this modern decour, on most nights there is a DJ. (If you are just in for a drink, the bar is a great hangout to just people watch) The plates I recommend most are...the brussel sprouts(quit making that face), potatoes, and the shrimp plate. I dig this place so much that I decided to have my holiday party here this year. Enjoy!

A newer winebar in the greater Phoenix area. The scenery and ambience make it well worth the visit. Kinda hip place on the weekends. At last visit, however, the wine list was nothing special. But check it out for yourself. I had my holiday office party and the staff was top notch.

...or the 'Ho as the locals call it. Was the hot spot for most of last year, but has died off as the buzz has worn. Still very crowded on the weekend, and a friendly staff. The newly remodeled hotel is retro cool, yet the layout makes it difficult to really mingle.

You would never have guessed it but one of the most extensive wine lists in the country resides in my hometown, ranging from 20 dollars a bottle to ten thousand. Dark with low lighting and candles, you feel like you may be in Italy or a cave. After work, folks come for the daily specials from 4-7 PM. On Thursday and Saturday there is live music, usually jazz. The crowd is very diverse, and people tend to err on the side of getting dressed up for the weekend nights. In my opinion one of the top spots to chill, enjoy a glass(or two) and people watch.

Dos Gringos: Great place to party with friends

This is a great place for a casual get together. I especially liked going in the late afternoon/early evening, got a table outside with a few friends, and stayed for a few drinks while playing some good tunes on the juke box. They also serve food, but I can't tell you anything about that as I never ordered anything to eat.

The Rusty Spur is a little hole-in-the-wall bar with live country music on the weekends. The crowd is lively and the atmosphere is fun. You can even dance if you can find enough floor space.

People go to see and be seen here. Dress to impress and expect it to be crowded Thursday-Saturday. The lounge downstairs in the restaurant is a nice retreat from the noise.

Dress Code: Trendy attire.
