    Pink Jeep Tours at Sedona

You can't miss this when you go to Sedona -- Pink Jeeps that promise to bring you into the red rocks! The pink jeeps are everywhere!

This company has been around for about 50 years, and they offer interesting tours called the Broken Arrow, Ancient Ruin, Grand Canyon, and Valley of Fire --- that take you to "places you may have never imagined existed." It is the same tour that was featured once on the Live with Regis and Kelly Show (a popular morning show here in USA).

They have drivers that range from a 61 year old rookie to a lady driver who has been with the company for over six years...truly a Sedona tradition on its own. After going through the several shops and restaurants, you might consider this little adventure. The prices may be high at the $100up range but truly worth it for tours that may last 11 hours at times...

Pink Jeep Tours ~ Ancient Ruins~

We enjoyed this tour company the last time we visited Sedona. So over the Thanksgiving holiday I wanted to treat my sister to the exicitement this tour provided. Although, the Ancient Ruins Tour was tame compared to the Broken Arrow tour, the whole family still enjoyed just riding in the jeep and being taken back into the ancient forrect so we could experience our ancestors. Plus, the tour guides are very knowledgeable about the area and what other events that may be developing as far as tourism. They picked us up at our Condo and even brought us back, so that was wonderful. Our tour consisted of exploring and being educated about the 700 year old Sinaguan cliff dwelling. Simply fantastic!

    Tour Time:
    Approx. 2.5-3 hours
    Price:
    $72.00 per adult
    $54.00 per child

Pink Jeep Tours ~ BROKEN ARROW TOUR

This tour has been in business for almost 47 years and as of yet, they have no desire to change the color. So deal with it guys, it’s just a jeep and it is a complete blast! I had heard about them and decided it would be fun, especially for my boys, including the big boy….lol! I made reservation to be sure, so I suggest you make them too. They are really popular. They have many types of tours, so please check out the web site to see what is available. It may seem pricey to some, but well worth the money. We did the BROKEN ARROW TOUR and I will never ever forget the smiles and laughter. Our guide was awesome; his name is Mike so ask for him.

These jeeps are not cheap, they have been completed modified to ensure everyones safety and FUN!!

BTW..They do go in groups and I take they do this for safety purposes.

    The Pink Jeep Tour

    Entrance to the Hananki Ruins

While taking a break for lunch, we began a conversation with a family who had taken a Pink Jeep Tour. They had just returned from visiting ancient Indian ruins and couldn't say enough wonderful things about it. Since my husband and I are both very interested in archaeology, we booked the tour immediately after lunch and scheduled one for 3:00 p.m. that same day.

Being April, the open sided jeep made for a cold drive 15 miles outside of town to the Honanki Indian ruins. Thankfully, thick woven Indian blankets were provided in the jeep and we were able to wrap up to keep the chill off.

We bumped along a dirt road further and further until we reached a parking area with security fence. The tour company keeps an eye on the ruins and guides rotate as security for the site.

Our guide certainly knew the history of this ancient culture, which made all the difference! Further tips will reveal what we saw and learned.

Pink Jeep Tours charged $72 per person for the 2 1/2-3 hour tour of the ancient Honanki ruins.

For sure take a pink jeep tour--do the broken arrow trip. It takes about two hours and you will be taken on a crazy off roading ride through the famous red rocks. It cost about 70$ but is worth it. Ask to have the driver Paul. He is amazing and full of knowledge about the area.
Don't eat too much mexican food or drink too much tequila before the tour. YOu wouldn't want to make a mess. : )

RENT YOUR OWN JEEP INSTEAD OF A TOUR!

This is on Broken Arrow trail

You do not need to take a tour in order to see the backcountry of Sedona. You can rent your own Jeep and do all the same trails except that you can stop when you want and not be seated sideways. There is one Jeep rental place in town, called Barlow Jeep Rentals. They will provide you with maps and trail information so that you are comfortable and prepared. When I have family come visit, I rent a Jeep and take them out myself. The trails are easy to navigate and there is nothing off limits.

You can drive the Broken Arrow Trail even though the tour companies will tell you otherwise. This is Forest Service land so these trails are all open to the PUBLIC, anyone with the proper vehicle can drive them. It's much, much cheaper to rent your own Jeep and take your whole family out. It's also extremely fun to get out and drive a new Jeep.

They will also give you a cooler with ice, so you can pack a picnic. I truly believe this is the best thing to do while visiting Sedona!

    Brochure for Pink Jeep
    2 more images

A lot of people get a jeep tour around the area. The companies in town go around Sedona, but also up to Grand CAnyon and many other spots in the radius. Grand CAnyon trip is11 hours and $125 per person. Other rides around Sedona run $$55 for 2 hours in the mountains close by to 4 hour trip to other places for $106. They offer about 12+ tours to choose from. The pink jeeps seem to stand out most for the rides, so to speak. The jeeps are open for 360o views and have canopies to protect from sun.

We took the Pink Jeep Tour and had an amazing time! Not only does the company take you on a great adventure, they preserve the wilderness area through which they take you. Our guide was incredibly funny, and we had a great time! One word of advice: Hold off on a massage or facial until after the jeep tour - you'll appreciate both when you're done!

    Arizona Safari Jeep Tour

A jeep tour is a fun way of seeing the Sedona sights. We picked up a brochure at the hotel and deiced to take an afternoon tour. Liz and I piled into an open air jeep with two other couples and our driver/guide. The tour was amazing, taking us through Bear Wallow Canyon, the various rock formations, Munds Mountain, Wilson Mountain, Mongollon Rim and Schnebly Hill Vista. The ride was definitly bumpy and steep at some points but it was a fun ride. We got to see the famous Snoopy Rock that looks like Snoopy on his dog house. The red rocks were so interesting and we had fun guessing what character they could resemble. On our way back into town we even spotted some coyote and their young.

The tour was two hours long but it went by so quickly. The tour was $55 a person and definitely worth the price.

Be prepared to be a bit sore the next day from bumping around in the jeep. We both felt a little beat up the next morning.

Guided Jeep Tours up through the canyons and off the beaten path to watch the sunset on the mountain side. A few to choose from, but, Sedona Red Rock Jeep Tours and Sedona Adventures 4x4 Tours, both showed us an excellent time...not rushed around like cattle. VERY FRIENDLY AND INFORMATIVE
It's so beautiful and exciting in the town as well as in the hills and country side.

We took the Broken Arrow Tour and it was fantastic. The views are spectacular!
It was very adventurous and safe. You really must take one of these tours to experience the true heart of Sedona. We were very impressed. Our tour guide, Pete Zins was great. Nice job and thank you for sharing it with us. We are traveling to Las Vegas in June 08 and will definitely take another Jeep tour.

VERY easy to locate here in Sedona. The jeep does provide you refills to your own bottle of water. Trust me on a hot day you will need it. Our tour guide, Jeff, was VERY informative and entertaining. I was in the very back of the jeep and at some points I was standing straight up and down!
For anyone that loves thrill rides this is a must do. I would not recommend for young children, anyone with heart conditions, or those that get motion sickness. I NEVER get motion sickness and towards the end even I started to feel a bit queasy. This jeep company has been featured on the Travel Channel. It was about 75.00 a person but it was well spent. Super fun and the highlight of our 2 week road trip out West.

Take a jeep tour in the surrounding area.
    .
We used Pink Jeep Tours and we LOVED them, but there are several companies that do them. Basically you get to go places that cannot be reached by standard autos. We did the "Broken Arrow" tour. Our guide was very knowledgeable and kept me from backing into cacti! See the travelogue for more pictures!
