In 1902 John James built this cabin in Ramsey Canyon for him and his family. Between 1880 and the 1920s over 100 people lived in the canyon.

There are two loops off the main trail: the Bledsoe Loop; and the Grand View Loop. I would recommend hiking to the Overlook then hit the loops on your way back down.

The preserve built this frog pond (which you can see on the Grand View Loop) in a concerted effort to bring back the Chiricahuan Leopard Frog an endangered species.

There is a picnic table under a ramada on site if you wish to eat here. Please throw your trash in an appropriate container or take it with you.

Bunch Grass is very common along the San Pedro. It is a very important plant for area animals because many animals eat the seeda and use the thick grass for concealment from predators.

Another stop along the trail is Kingfisher Pond, so called for one of the frequent visitors to the pond. This is also a great area for observing wildlife.
