    Monsoon Season

by Basaic Updated Sep 6, 2012

From around the 4th of July, into September is monsoon season in the high desert. Thunderstorms arrive most days in the afternoon. Beware of the lightning and don't get caught in the canyons during a rainstorm, as flash floods do occur.

    Don't speed!!!

Don't speed!!! The cops are waiting for a reason to pull you over. The road into town is especially bad and it's one of the only ways in or out. It's a log straight stretch and very tempting to go fast but it's like fishing in a bucket if you do. You'll surely be pulled over if you speed.
