I-8 FROM YUMA TO TACNA by matcrazy1 I drove to Tacna from Yuma by I-8 (interstate freeway number 8 - two lanes in each direction). I took an exit 41 to Wellton because my Buick was hungry and needed some fuel. And there was Chevron gas station there. Then I drove around hehe. Tacna is located 46 miles (74 km) east of Yuma (I-8) or 147 miles (237 km) southwest of Phoenix (I-8 to US-85) or 193 miles (311 km) west of Tucson (I-8 to I-10). As I know there is no other possibility to get to Tacna than by a road - no public transportation there. Leave a Comment Theme: Car/Motor Home

THERE IS! A CAR, A PICKUP TRUCK! by matcrazy1 Don't worry - there are NO traffic jams in Tacna, there are no traffic lights (STOP signs instead), there are no cars driving around. If you are lucky you can find a local pickup truck or some crazy visitors driving around devil knows what for :-). Leave a Comment Theme: Car/Motor Home

EMPTY PARKING LOT! by matcrazy1 Haha, don't worry I have never seen so many empty parking lots like in Tacna - during the whole 38 days' USA trip! Look at empty parking lot by Basque Etchea restaurant on my picture. Leave a Comment Theme: Car/Motor Home

EXIT 54 ON I-8 (AVE 52E AND MOHAWK VALLEY) by matcrazy1 Whenever you drive quite monotous and empty I-8 from Tacna towards Tucson do not sleep :-) Better eat, drink, talk by a cell phone (they should work along I-8 as I know), talk with your passengers, listen to the music. OK, any other ideas? And watch your exit! Enkarge my picture to see how they are signed. Leave a Comment Theme: Car/Motor Home

MOTORCYCLES ON I-8 BETWEEN TACNA AND TUCSON by matcrazy1 You can get to Tacna by a motorcycle instead of a car. Almost no rains there and warm or hot days all the year. To be honest I met only these two motorcycle on my picture while I drove around Southern Arizona. Why don't they drive motorcycles? Do they need more luxury (RV) or maybe they are afraid of driving a motorcycle (expensive insurances?). What do you think? Leave a Comment Theme: Motorcycle
