    Urban Renewal?

by zrim Written Apr 2, 2003

    2.5 out of 5 starsHelpfulness

Favorite thing: I'm not sure what to make of the obviously new brightly colored buildings in downtown Tucson. Some city planner's idea of urban renewal. It doesn't really work. Downtown Tucson is a dead zone. People come downtown to work--brightly colored buildings are not going to coax people to stick around after work or to live in this area. In my mind, a wasted effort.

    Downtown Tucson is a Zero

    2.5 out of 5 starsHelpfulness

Favorite thing: Nothing happening in the downtown area. A few big office towers--not much else that I could discern. Tucson was really just a small town until recently--then unparalled growth in terms of development and population. That has not left much of historical interest within the town. And the new growth downtown is hardly discernable from that of say an Omaha or Sacremento.
