    Las Palomas de Tubac

Tubac is an artsy community located 40 minutes south of Tucson and 20 minutes from Nogales (Take Exit 34 off of Rt. 19). Tubac has over eighty galleries and shops that feature hand-crafted items, sculpture, paintings, clothing as well as Mexican imported items.

Tubac is a nice town to stroll through and browse at the various shops. However, the items do seem a bit overpriced. Las Palomas de Tubac was a neat shop featuring all sorts of ceramic, glass and clay pots and decorative pieces. There are a few restaurants in the village that offer both lunch and dinner menus ranging from fine dining to simpler fare.

    NOT MY CAR

Tubac is an artist's colony about 45 minutes south of central Tucson. I've put a lot of photos here because it's a fun place to visit. One can find real art treasures or the usual Arizona souvenirs. Shelby's Bistro is a terrific place to stop for lunch.

This is not how I got to Tubac... that was my granny.
