Luggage List for the Desert
Luggage and bags: In the summer, bring a light t-shirt, shorts, and flip flops. Don't forget the sunscreen. When the sun is beating and the temp is 105 F, you will burn fast. In the winter, bring a jacket with you. The days are nice. Temps in the 70's but overnight lows can drop into the upper twenties and lower thirties.
Clothing/Shoes/Weather Gear: Light T-shirt. No black ones. They hold heat. Some shorts and a comfortable pair of walking shoes or flip flops. Sunscreen, and a good pair of sunglasses are in order. Lots and lots of drinking water. It's amazing how fast you can become dehydrated.
Photo Equipment: Lot's of film. The Metro Tucson area has lots of picturesque photo opportunites wating to be taken.
Camping/Beach/Outdoor Gear: I don't camp in the desert so I wouldn't know.
Sunblock, Sunblock, Sunblock
Clothing/Shoes/Weather Gear: Dress for the dry heat, and don't forget sunglasses.
Toiletries and Medical Supplies: Maybe it's just because I turn into a lobster 5 minutes after being outside, but I would recommend lots and lots of sunblock.
Photo Equipment: Bring a camera, you'll want lots of pictures of the landscape.
Pack for Summer heat
Clothing/Shoes/Weather Gear: In the summer months (basically May - September) Tucson's temperature often exceeds 100 °F. Many summer events are held in the evening or at night when the sun has set and temperatures are cooler, but should you choose to brave the heat and explore town during the day, pack loose-fitting clothes, sunscreen, and sunglasses.

Everything against heat and sun!
Luggage and bags: No bags in hot summer except one for your camera, good (safe) pockets (or comfortable belt) instead. Small city rucksack for warm winter.
Clothing/Shoes/Weather Gear: Light clothes (shorts, T-shirts, better too large :-) made of natural materials (cotton) for warm/hot days all year round.
Sweater/pullover and/or jacket for cold evenings/nights (from November till April).
Shoes? Oh, yes - you should have them :-). Sandals, trainers or good walking shoes.
Add sun glasses.

Toiletries and Medical Supplies: Good sun protection cosmetics with high UV filter - use them BEFORE or just after you leave your car.
Photo Equipment: Be prepared for large contrasts between sun and shadow - sun filters recommended. Add hmm... how do you call it in English - something fixed to your camera objective to protect it against sun - not comfortable to carry but necessary, I suppose.
Camping/Beach/Outdoor Gear: Tourist frige with ice cubes and cold beverages inside :-).

Dry and Sunny
Clothing/Shoes/Weather Gear: Light weight clothing is a must. Casual clothes are generally accepted everywhere. Bring sandals and atleast one pair of good walking shoes.
It only rains during the late summer, other than that it is dry and sunny.
During "winter" months it can get chilly at night. You may want to keep a pair of jeans and that sweatshirt handy. Maybe a even a light jacket.
Toiletries and Medical Supplies: Sunscreen is a must. Everything else can be bought here.
Camping/Beach/Outdoor Gear: Bring atleast one swimsuit, most hotels have a pool and you'll definately want to take a dip if you come during summer.

Clothing/Shoes/Weather Gear: This is a place that you'll need your sun-glasses and sun screen! It's very hot! So hot that the residents have 'egg-frying' contests on the sidewalk! So...keep your shoes on! There is humidity - it comes from all the canals that they built so it isn't necessarily a dry heat as some would believe. In the evenings, it's beautiful! It cools down where at times you can open your windows and enjoy the breeze...save on a cooling bill!
