    Tucson Convention Center (TCC)

The Tucson Convention Center covers quite large space in Tucson downtown. It houses the largest exhibition space in Southern Arizona.

There is Music Hall, Theatre, Exhibition Hall, Arena there. Add lobby, meeting rooms, ballroom and a lot of parking lots located west of Music Hall, entry from Granada Ave. (look at my picture).

A lot of cultural and sport events take place there. Details: follow the link below.

The 4th Avenue Street Fair. If you're not here during the fair, check out 4th Ave. anyway. There are alot of shops and restaurants. Cool thrift stores, hippie stores, records, smoke shops, southwestern gift shops, beads, hair, books, bars etc. Lots of wacky characters and loiterers around.
Every spring and winter, tucson has The 4th Ave. Street Fair. They close 4th Ave. down for a weekend for merchants and craftspeople to set up tents down the middle of it in order to hock their wares. It seems everybody in tucson comes out for it and there is usually live musical entertainment and good fair food. Try the roasted corn & indian fry bread, they're sooo good.

Go site seeing. Even take the local bus to tour the city. Go to a movie on a really hot day to cool down.
There are so many places to visit that you need a good way to get around, a car or if you are lucky like I was a daughter to drive you to all the great places. Tours are available all over.

    the zoo... mt. lemmon... and...

by machinegirl Written Feb 25, 2003

the zoo... mt. lemmon... and 4th avenue/downtown area (it used to be a lot cooler - but I guess it still has some perks).
Animals are just plain cool, so that explains the zoo. Mt. Lemmon has some of the most amazing views... Tucson isn't a really pretty place, but at night and from up on the side of a mountain it doesn't look nearly as bad :) The downtown area of Tucson is the friendliest area. It's also the artsiest. There are good places to eat, drink and shop... and there's even a park if ya need a nap.

camping! we are surrounded by protected national parks, there are many places to set up camp.
campgrounds or spots are out a bit, so you can see the stars really well. the skies are almost always clear so you are able to see the milky way! it's breathtaking, trust me.

This small zoo is a nice compliment to the Sonora desert museum. It focuses on wildlife of South America and Africa as opposed to the local wildlife of the Sonora Museum.

University Boulevard is the main route to the campus. The first few blocks outside the campus house a series of restaurants and shops of interest to the college students.

While driving up to Mt Lemmon there are many beautiful spots to stop and view or photograph. The view of the San Pedro Valley is beautiful. On a clear day you can see all the way to New Mexico.
