  • Phillips County Museum

    The Phillips County Museum was built in 1891 and houses various artifacts including early paintings, a Thomas Edison Collection, Native American items, letters from General Lafayette, General Robert E.   • Magnolia Hill Bed and Breakfast

    Another of the interesting old mansions in town is Magnolia Hill. It was built from 1895 to 1900 and is a two and one half story mansion with Late Victorian plans with Classic Revival detailing from the Edwardian Era. It has been converted into a Bed and Breakfast.

  • Battery C Park

    Battery C Park is located on the east side of Helena along the Mississippi River. It is a nice little park and a nice place to go to fish or just relax. This is also the location of a civil war battle.

  • Other Nice Churches

    In addition to the Centennial Baptist Church there are several other nice historic churches in Helena.

  • Hernando De Soto Monument

    This monument is located across the street from the county courthouse and honors the first Christian service held west of the Mississippi. It was held on this spot by the Spanish explorer Hernando De Soto on 25 June 1541.

  • Centennial Baptist Church

    Another interesting building in Helena is the Centennial Baptist Church. Is is the only known Arkansas example of an African-American church designed by an African-American architect, and is listed on the National Register of Historic Places.   • The Solomon House and Carriage Square

    One of the newer attractions in Helena is the Solomon House and the Carriage Square. It is a popular tourist attraction and a popular place to get married. This beautiful mansion was built in 1925.

  • Pillow-Thompson House

    Helena has several very nice examples of old-style mansions. This one is the Pillow-Thompson House which is owned and operated by the Phillips Community College of the University of Arkansas. It was built in 1896 using the Queen Anne style of architecture.

  • Cherry Street Historic District

    There are a number of old historic mansions in Helena; but the entire Cherry Street District is historic and is listed on the National Register of Historic Places.

    Favorite thing: Fell in love with The Edwardian Inn in Helena. Beautiful home and wonderful hospitality

    Fondest memory: Phillips Country Museum is a fantastic museum of the history of Helena and has some wonderful artifacts.
