for a relatively large city, little rock has a tremendous number of beautiful parks that are within the city limits and easy to get to. look at a city map to find them, but you will see that they are everywhere! Leave a Comment

If you have access to a car, get on highway 10 (Cantrell Rd.) and head west out of town. You can drive all the way out seeing scenic shots of Lake Maumelle. Carefully hidden off of the highway are several picnic areas with beautiful views of the lake. Leave a Comment

The Arkansas State Capitol is located in Little Rock. It has the distinction of being a nearly exact replica of the National Capitol. If you come at the right time, you might be lucky enough to see a movie crew 'blowing up' the US Capitol and using us instead! Leave a Comment

The UALR planetarium. Aside from being the largest planetarium in Arkansas, the UALR planetarium is open to the public for astronomy shows. See the planetarium for times. one of the most wonderful places to go walking is allsopp park, which is bounded by cantrell road and kavanaugh boulevard on the north and south, and by cedar hill road and allsopp park road (called hillcrest avenue at its intersection with kavanaugh boulevard) on the east and west.
marked trails wind through the trees and are manageable even if you are not in the best of physical shape. BE AWARE of what might be coming up behind you, tho, because people on mountain bikes use these trails to practice on!
