Old State House Museum
Set in the oldest surviving state capitol west of the Mississippi River, the Old State House Museum has been designated a National Landmark. This magnificent Greek Revival structure houses a multimedia museum of Arkansas history, with a special emphasis on women's history, political history, and historical programming for school children. The Little Rock museum also boasts nationally recognized collections of Civil War battle flags, the inaugural gowns of governors' wives, Arkansas art pottery, and African-American quilts.

Visit Little Rock's Central High School at 1500 S. Park St. Recently voted by Congress to the National Registry, this beautiful and historic landmark was the site of the 1957 intergration conflict wherein then Gov. Orval Faubas called out the national guard to oversee the entrance of black students to a then all white high school. Central High, where I was once a student, I am now a teacher.
Central High School Museum, located just across the street, chronicles the history of the school.
Villa Marre - If you happen to...

Many of the turn-of-the-century homes have been restored, such as this one, Villa Marre. If it looks famaliar to you, it's because it served as the setting on the sitcom hit 'Designing Women'.
