Beautiful weather, I recommend the early Autumn for traveling here, or early spring. We took a 4 day weekend from Muskogee, Oklahoma.

Fort Smith, Ark. - Don't miss the fun restaurant at the West End. It is a carnival atmosphere and we ate in the old passanger train car.

Hot Springs, Ark. - We booked a spa morning at the Crysalis Day Spa. It was wonderful - Highly recommended. We enjoyed the night life at Lucky's Bar and Grill and the local house band played 70's music. Altho, we got caught up in the commercilism of Hot Springs, we did tour the Bath Houses and feel the actual hot springs behind the visitors center at the Fordyce House. DON'T MISS THAT! The food was great everywhere, the shopping is fun on Bath House Row, and the Watch Tower is amazing. We ran out of time, didn't get to do all we wanted to do and had to head west to the Crater of Diamonds.

    Murfreesboro -
Quiet town, peaceful, laid back. The ladies at the desk were very nice and helpful at the Queen of Diamonds Inn. The room was clean, the veranda and big rockers were fun. Close enough to the Crater of Diamonds Park. We were overwhelmed at trying to find a dark pencil lead size piece of rock in the dark dirt and mud. We enjoyed the Indian trading post KA-DO-HA much more. DON"T MISS IT! Sam was fun, he stacked the buckets with 'gems' and we got to experience the prospecting with the sifting of sand in the water trough and sorting out the tiny rocks for treasures. It wasn't crowded and it was a beautiful fall day. Overall experience gets an "A"...because of the Indian Village and the weather. We enjoyed BBQ across the street at Buddy's and went to the ampitheater that evening to watch the free concert. The campfire felt good and was fun, the Guitar players were great and kuddos to little 12 year old Rachel for singing her heart out and yodeling in harmony with her mother.

We traveled home via the end of the Talamina drive and stopped in at the Spiro Mounds Exibit Center.
