Pseudo "National Park Gift Shop"

OK, don't be fooled. This place is located directly across the street from the Fordyce Bath House (National Park Visitor's Center). Although it has some nice things, there is NOTHING that is US National Park related in this place. The ONLY National Park things you will find are in the gift shop inside the Visitor's Center.Why it's called a National Park Gift Shop, I have no idea, but I think it is because it is located in the National Park area. Look around. There are PLENTY of other shops around. Try the scary "Romancing the Stone" shop down the street.

Branson - THE Tourist Trap of the Ozarks!

Although it's actually in Missouri, Branson is near the Arkansas border and is THE tacky tourist trap here in the Ozarks. If you like country music or variety/dinner shows, you'd probably enjoy some of the shows there. Otherwise, forget it. Go rent a boat and fish or swim -- you'll have a much better time! Families would enjoy the Dixie Stampede dinner show with lots of horses, music, pig races, and dinner that you have to eat with your fingers! And Silver Dollar City, an amusement park with rides, local crafts, and country/gospel music, is fine for families as well. If you want to hear some REAL Ozark folk music, go to Mountain View, Ark.
