This lovely antique store is filled to the brim with some pretty neat western decor. Some of it is reproduction, but many of the antique items have been revamped. You just have to browse around because there is so many unique and special items.

This is a diamond back and yes, they are very real to the outdoors of California. So keep this in mind while exploring any area that has brush, rocks or any hidden area where snakes like to either keep warm or cool. One thing: you leave them alone and they will leave you alone.

Yet, the more dangerous is the Green Mojave.

Snake bites are rare at Vasquez Rocks, but if bitten, don't panic; it is important to keep your heart rate slow. Please note that the only emergency center with anti-venin in the Santa Clarita Valley is Henry Mayo Hospital.

Cell phone coverage at Vasquez Rocks is spotty. In an emergency from your cell phone, dial 661-255-1121. If you have a new phone with GPS technology, you may dial 911.

Some of the rocks are over 150 feet high. The going is kinda steep in places so sometimes the best way to get down is the "sliding on the butt" method.

Equipment: Boots with ankle support and non-skid soles.
