by starrlot This restaurant is really a hidden treasure in Disneyland. When you visit, you must dine at this location. If you do not know what to expect, ride the Pirates of the Caribbean and at the beginning going through the bayou, you will be able to see for yourself. Seeing is one thing, however, experiencing firsthand is another. May I suggest making reservation way in advance, I made mine a month in advance and that was cutting is very close. It is lit only by candles and the moonlight from the bayou on the ride. Being a New Orleans regular, it truly does feel like you are dining on the bayou under the moonlight. The waitstaff is friendly and service exceptional. It is comfortable and a place to escape, you really do not feel you are in Disneyland, with the exception of screams coming from the PoC ride when the boats go down the first drop, but this is amusing rather than annoying.

Tony Roma's on S Harbor Blvd by alanh24 Tony Roma's food is just fantastic. From steak and burgers to their world famous ribs, it's all fantastic. After an 11 hour flight from the UK, Tony Roma's is the first place we head for to settle our rumbling stomachs. The smell as you walk in is just heaven. Inside, it has a very friendly atmosphere with a great bar and a very spacious feeling. The serving staff have always been very friendly and helpful, making you feel very welcome.
I think between us, my girlfriend and I have had most of the menu. I have to say there is nothing on the menu that I don't like but if I had to have a favourite I'll have to be boring and say the steak is just fabulous. Basted with BBQ sauce and cooked to perfection so it melts in your mouth, what more could you want after airline food! The warm sour dough bread they give as an appetiser is just perfect and is another personal favourite. There are very few "nice" restaurants in California Adventure. Only one really stands out. The Golden Vine is a great place to sit and eat. There are actually two restaurants here. My favorite is the Wine Country Trattoria . It is on the cheaper side with typical California fair. The food is great, and the wine is even better. They offer wine tasting outside on the patio and they have a pretty decent menu to boot. The ambiance is very "Napa Valley". You can learn a bit about the grapes and wine we generate here in California. They even have fairly informative shows and demonstrations on the weekends. All in all, the best place to eat in California Adventure. Upstairs is the another restaurant the Vineyard Room . This is "fine dining". Much nicer atmosphere and food offerings, but it will run about $35 a person. Nice place for a quiet romantic dinner for two. But for your typical meal, stick with the Wine Country Trattoria.
Chicken Panini is pretty tasty. The Brocolli Cheddar soup is great. Try the Riesling. It is awesome.

Blue Bayou is a restaurant located in New Orleans Square inside Disneyland. It is the restaurant that you float by at the beginning of the "Pirates of the Caribbean" ride. The wonderful thing about the Blue Bayou is that you feel like you are eating outdoors on the waterfront of a Louisana bayou at night...no matter what time of the day it is! The sky is dark, the stars are shining, crickets are chirping, and fireflies fly by. You also hear the peaceful swish of the water as the boats go by. My husband and I have eaten here 6 times and every dish has been delicious. The service is also excellent. It's the best restaurant at Disneyland and especially great for a romantic dinner. Though keep in mind that Disneyland is for families so even Blue Bayou has many kids and the riders on "Pirates of the Caribbean" occassionally yell when floating by the restaurant. The paper pirate hats that my sister and I are wearing in the photo is the kids' menu. If you want one, just ask. =) The restaurant is pricer than other dining options at Disneyland but it's worth it for a one-of-a-kind experience! This restaurant is ALWAYS booked so don't expect to walk up on a weekend and get a table. Make reservations in advance by calling Disney Dining at (714) 781-3463.

This restaurant is definitely a case of "don't judge a book by its cover". I debated whether to put this in the "off the beaten path" section. Snugly tucked in a little strip mall next to Magnolia High School, sandwiched between an Armenian Bakery and a Head Shop, is this Anaheim gem. The best roasted chicken ever. You can get other middle eastern fair: hommus, mutabbel, falafel, tarna, shawerma, etc. But it's all about the garlic sauce. Ask for extra. It is completely addicting.
Try the #6 - Chicken Pita. Simple. Delicious. And only $3. Make sure to ask for an extra garlic sauce. Also, the half chicken plate is great. Comes with hommus and pita. Ariel's Grotto is located at the entrance to Paradise Pier inside Disney's California Adventure theme park and home to "Ariel's Disney Princess Celebration", one of the Disneyland Resort’s Character Dining options. They serve lunch and dinner. For a set price, you get your choice of soup or salad, entrée, and dessert. Kids get an entrée and dessert. Drinks are extra. Adult entrees include fish & chips, cheeseburger, pasta, B.L.T. sandwich, pot pie, meatloaf, and 2 salads. Kids’ entrees include all the favorites, like mac and cheese, corn dogs, and chicken nuggets. Honestly, the food is mediocre and I’ve had much better food at other Disneyland Resort restaurants but no one is there for the food. During the course of the meal, your table is visited by Ariel, Belle, Snow White, Cinderella, and Aurora individually. When they visit, you have a chance to take a photo with them and get their autograph. Each meal ends with a pile of cotton candy and you get to take home an Ariel’s Grotto button as a keepsake. Since the restaurant is located on Paradise Pier, you get a great waterfront view too. Character Dining is definitely a must for any Disneyland Resort trip and this is the only Princess dining experience. It’s an extremely magically experience for kids who love Disney Princesses! I’ve seen a 2-hour wait for Ariel’s Grotto and sometimes it can be booked up for the rest of the day. Make reservations in advance by calling Disney Dining at (714) 781-3463.
