    Tony Roma's: Waste of time
  • Satisfaction:

  • Definitely not worth the money. The three of us went to Tony Roma's to have a nice dinner,, well,,, not only did it take almost 2 hours to get our food,, one of our order's was wrong. The food was very bland with small portions and over priced, the service was very poor. We should have known by how few people were in the restaurant. I would say to anyone,, save your money and go elsewhere, this place was the worse place we ate at during our 2 week visit in Anaheim.

Wadiya: Sri Lankan Restaurant in OC

  • This is a restaurant that just opened so they are still working out the kinks. It's a nice quiet place that's decorated in a tropical style.

The food was great. The food took awhile to get to us. But our waitress, Pavithra, more than made up for the delay by being nice. The food is very authentic. It's spicy. It's tastes like a very good home cooked meal.

They also deliver for free within 10 miles of the restaurant. You can order ahead too if you look at the online menu: http://www.wadiyausa.com/menu.html

In addition to the Sri Lankan dishes, they also serve some Indian dishes like Tandoori chicken.

I had the vegetarian Kothurotti(chopped flat bread stir-fried with carrots, onions, spices and egg. It was great very spicy and flavorful.
My sister had the Biriyani (long grain rice flavored with saffron and cooked with lamb, chicken, veggies, or shrimp) .
The Lumprais(rice boiled in stock, and mixed with meat and/or vegetables and then baked in a low oven after it is wrapped in a banana leaf) is good too.

They have lamb, beef, chicken, and vegetarian options for most of their dishes.
We also got a lamb curry on the side. It was nicely marinated and very tender.

The presentation was great with the rice coming molded into nice shapes and garnished with leaves.

For desert you can try the juggery cake, woodapple ice cream, or caramel cream.

Club 33, the best kept secret at Disneyland. If you're lucky enough to get a reservation (contacts through connected law firms, corporations, entertainment and media firms, etc. helps), you owe it to yourself to eat at this place.
Very attentive waitstaff, keeping your wine glass full and the bread crumbs swept from the table frequently (using a cute little 'bread crumb dust pan'). The matchbooks(at each place setting) printed with my last name on them was a nice touch also.

The menu varies, with a sumptious buffet on Sundays (although this may have changed), but is comparable to a 4+ star restaurant. You know, fine caviar, various pate', filet mignon, lobster, very rich chocolate mousse, etc.

We came together for a VT meeting to celebrate Keith's (TinKan) birthday. Everyone had a great time, the food (made fresh daily) and wine were divine and we even welcomed new members into the family.

LJ selected the Rahm Schnitzel (breaded veal steak in creme sauce) with German Potato Salad and Spätzle (German noodles) while I had the Boneless Breaded Pork Chops (stuffed with crab and shrimp), Spätzle and Green Beans.

Casa Garcia: Good Homestyle Mexican Food near Disneyland

It's a hole in the wall when you drive up to this restaurant within a little strip mall, but you walk in and it's packed with people and accolades cover the entrance walls. They've been there a long time and eat there once and you'll know why and hope their still there for your next visit to the area.
We travel down to S.Calif at least once a year and have tried almost every restaurant that serves Mexican. We just can't help going back to Casa Garcia everytime we're down there.
So don't let the appearance fool you. This is not a huge fancy franchise type of restaurant. This is the Garcia family homestyle cooking.
When you walk in, it's definitely only about the food, drinks and having a good time. This is serious Mexican food and a great bang for your buck. It's family oriented, bright and cheerful and basic, but the food and enjoyment is what you're there for.
The salsa alone is to die for. We had to buy a jug of it to bring home to Canada.
The Margharitas are perfectly mixed and slushy.
    You won't be disappointed.

At least, that is what the neon sign in the window says. It would be really easy to miss this little place, sitting quietly at the end of a low-rent strip mall next to a Mexican Bakery. But don't let the humble exterior fool you. This place really does have great Thai food. I spent a couple of years working in the Cambodian and Thai community in Long Beach, so I know a little about it.

Essential Thai is a family run place, where you can get a great Thai meal for under $10. The menu is very extensive, and is actually quite easy to get lost in. The soup pots are fabulous. The glass noodles even better. My personal favorite is the "Beef Salad" (also known as Yum Nuah) Try the Special Crab Dinner. Everything is fresh and tasty.

One word of advice: Make sure to order your stuff "mild" when they ask how spicy you want things. I am Mexican, and love my spicy food, but the Thai use these ungodly peppers in their cooking that will strip the roof off your mouth. So order it mild, just to be safe. It will still be plenty spicy. Trust me.

Beef Salad (Yum Nuah). Stir Fried Glass Noodles (Pad Woon Sen). Any of the soup pots.

We had lunch here. It appears dinner would have been much more entertaining. The food was pretty good but the service was slow.

I had the N’Awlins Cheesesteak Po-Boy, a julienne of filet mignon, caramelized onions, red and green bell peppers on French bread, with provolone cheese, horseradish aioli and Creole vinegar dill chips for US$11.95. It was pretty good.

See picture above for and idea of what it looks like from the street and on the outside patio. The food pictured is the carnitas (on the left) and the wet chimichanga (on the right). These are the "dinners" with rice and beans. You can order them without if you like.

This place is VERY CASUAL. It's basically a hole in the wall so don't worry about how you're dressed.

It's located on Harbor Blvd. about 2 miles south of Disneyland right next to the Crowne Plaza hotel.

You will not be disappointed with this place!

Some of my families favorites are the following...

    Carne Asada
    Carnitas
    Steak Picado
    Wet Chimichanga (this is huge)

We see alot of people ordering the whole fried fish, menudo, ceviche, etc. Don't go for ANYTHING American, skip the burgers and fries (they aren't that great) and order a good old sonora-style Mexican meal, pat your belly, and then go take a nap!

OK, so it is not the most ideal place to dine if you want to have an intimate, romantic dinner, except if you are a couple who happen to be taking the kids to Disneyland. Nicely, Naples is not within the actual park itself. Located along Downtown Disney row, Naples is not too fancy to be elegant yet not too ordinary.

Though I do put Naples as an Italian choice, it really is not very, very authentic Italian- rather another "California-style" eaterie. Yet , what you get on the plate (not in the shape of Mickey Mouses's head, thankfully!) is tasty as Italian would be neat to see tehe menu items listed in Italian
