Anaheim White House: Truly Fine Dining
Anaheim White House was a lucky find and the first time we went, we were really surprised to find such a great place first try!
My friend and I had escorted a group of French teenagers on a weekend trip to Disneyland. After the kids took off for the park in the evening, we decided to go out for a nice and relaxing dinner leaving the other teacher in charge for a few hours.
We decided to give Thee White House Restaurant a try. We expected "nice" but got enchanting! The mansion was built in 1909, changed hands and served different purposes over the years. By the time we got there, the Stovall's owned it. Funny too, they owned the really economical, 1950's space-style motel (read Jettsons) that we were staying at with the French students.
We were the first to arrive for dinner, the place was very quiet and we were seated in the "Green Room." The in-period decoration seemed it could have been a replica of what might be found in the real White House, but wasn't.
Anaheim White House it is called now, since the Stovall's sold it to an Italian. Though the menu has changed from French to Italian. they have kept up the restaurant so I highly recommend that you stop in for a leisurely meall..
