Feel like spending a day in the great outdoors while munching on fresh fruits and cider? How about a place where your children can get some serious petting time with some wonderful farm animals. Then you have got to give the Avila Valley Barn a try. This open air barn has wonderful stands selling fresh frutis, vegtables, coffee and cider as well as different areas that are petting zoos with plenty of goats, donkeys, lambs and a area where children can take Pony rides. A great place to breath and enjoy the wonderful coastal air and relax to more of the simple things in life.

Front Street faces directly to the ocean, so it is a great place to take a walk and enjoy the ocean views on one side and see the shops and restaurants on the other side. The Boardwalk is new, made of concrete, not wood. It is wide and uncrowded, providing yet another way for you to relax and enjoy this quieter of California's coastal towns.

Avila Pier leads right out from the center of town. You can stroll to the end to watch surfers and get a good view of the beautiful coastline. This isn't a busy pier with shops and restaurants like in Santa Barbara, Monterey and San Francisco. More like the laid back atmosphere of the town and beach, it is a place to enjoy a relaxing atmosphere.

Avila Beach, not surprisingly, has a great beach. Just a little off the beaten path, Avila Beach's long and wide beach is one of the best in this part of California and doesn't have big crowds. The large, main beach in front of town is perfect for a stroll, and further east is another stretch of beach where owners can let their dogs run free. It's great.

There is really only one set of activities to do around here, and it is all beach related. Anything and everything related to that beautiful blue Pacific Ocean is here. All be it, in a very laidback pace. This is not the wild party beach life, but the chill life. Enjoy the pics.
