Another wonderful place located right by the Edwards Cinema Theatre in the Market Place. It is right in the central hub-bub of activities. It has that old fashion feel to it, great burgers and fries. Love the cherry cokes too! Not a big place, but has a great covered patio to dine in too! I think you'll enjoy this place!
Favorite Dish: Burger and fries. Can't go wrong with that. Great American old fashion food! Love it here!
My hubby is always looking out for new places to explore as far as food goes.....lol! He lets me find the other places. He saw this advertised so off we went. From the outside you think its just another sports bar & grill, but this one is very unique. Inside there are some of the neatest historical pictures of old fire houses and crews that are authentic for Bakersfield. The service and the food was excellent. My whole family enjoyed the atmosphere. We even stayed and played some pool with the boys.
About the only thing I didn't like was the video games they had. My youngest was disappointed in that. They could use some improvement there.
If you have not been to Lake Tahoe, this place almost makes you feel your there. Great food, friendly service, and some pretty neat cabin decor. It is a very popular place in Bakersfield. Many of the locals make this a frequent place to dine and I can understand why.
This is a wonderful restaurant that offers authentic homemade style Italian food. The decor is fun and comfortable and the service is wonderful. Lots to choose from the menu. We've visited this restaurant several times and have enjoyed each time.
This is my hubby's favorite restaurant. If their is one in the area, he will find it. This is a favorite of locals and even though the parking lot looks full, we have never had a problem getting a table. This particular restaurant is huge inside, so there is usally plenty of seating. The service is great and the food is absolutely wonderful. We enjoy the decor because it brings back lots of memories for me and the seating is always comfortable.
This is a very nice family orientated restaurant. It reminds me of many of mom’s kitchens and dinning décor. Very friendly and the food/service was good. It is always nice to try out a new place. My boys were pleased with the food, so that makes me happy.
Favorite Dish: Founded by the Havadjias brothers 1981, this single restaurant focused on preparing generous portions of fresh food and serving it quickly to an ever-growing group of satisfied customers. The concept was so successful, that by 1997, the chain had grown to include eight family-owned restaurants, all in Southern California.http://www.farmerboys.com/
This is another nice place. The food is great and so is the service. Locals like to come here and hang out having a beer or two at the bar or patio area. The décor is fun with painted western murals on the walls and a huge hint of NASCAR too. They serve peanuts as a snack and you can push the remnants onto the floor. They do not mind.
11am-10pm Sunday through Thursday
11am-11pm Friday and Saturday
Favorite Dish: The high-quality, moderately-priced menu features over 30 entrees including aged steaks hand-cut fresh on premises, mesquite-grilled chicken, fresh ground steakburgers, baby-back ribs, seafood, and specialty salads made from only the freshest ingredients.http://www.logansroadhouse.com/all_about_us.aspx
This is a wonderful place to eat in Bakersfield. They make traditional and some very untraditional pizzas. We bought our son a traditional cheese pizza, but turns out he tried my pizza with bacon and pineapple and obsolutely loved it. My hubby had a spaghetti dinner, which was really good too. Décor is simplistic, but modern. They have a wonderful patio area to dine at too and the entrance to the restaurant has a beautiful fountain to enjoy.

Favorite Dish: California Pizza Kitchen (CPK) is a leader in authentic California-style cuisine with a recognized consumer brand and an established, loyal customer base. Of the chain’s over 250 restaurants, over 200 are company-owned and nearly 50 operate under franchise or license agreements. There are 26 CPK ASAP locations, 9 of which are company-owned and 17 of which are franchised. Another company-owned concept is LA Food Show Grill & Bar, of which there are two locations, in Manhattan Beach, CA and in Beverly Hills, CAhttp://phx.corporate-ir.net/phoenix.zhtml?c=122300&p=irol-homeprofile
A very cozy environment. It has that typical tropical decor. Very nice and comfortable. The food was good and the service was ok. Not a bad place. I had the typical traditional dinner with taco and enchilada's. Tucked away in a strip shopping mall.

We have enjoyed this establishment a couple of times. The boys love the food and we enjoy the simple 50's decor. The service is always great and you most definitely get your monies worth. They serve the little ones with this pretty neafty 57 chevy meal box.
Upon entering the restaurant, there is no atmosphere at all. The employee's are unfriendly and usher you in like cows. On our visit in February 2008, we found the chairs had food in the cushions and on the legs as well. We entered this business at just before opening at 5pm. The floors had not been cleaned and there was an abundance of food, toothpicks and wrappers on the floor. Nobody had even seen fit to vaccum the floor. We ordered sushi and when it was brought, it was warm. The rice , as well as the fish, was warm. Sushi not kept at a cool temperature will grown bacteria quickly. I sent the shushi back but was told I still had to pay for it. The owner told me that the rice was "kept in a warmer" and that the sushi was "supposed to be warm". The owner was arrogant, he made no apologies for the sushi, and he did not offer to make things right for us as guests. I found the actions of the owner to be reflected in the restuarant. He seems to not care that his establishment is dirty, he does not seem to care if the food he sells is safe and he does not seem to care if he has unhappy customers. Pass this Asian restuarant by travellers. If Japanese cuisine is what you are looking for, try "ShoGuns" Japanese restaurant in Bakersfield.
Favorite Dish: Nothing.
I've taken the family here a lot. It has great service and the food is wonderful. The decor is very comfortable. Prices are very reasonable. Oh if its your birthday and can prove it, you get free a meal from a certain choice on the menu. So check it out when you can!
Open Mon-Thu 11am-9:30pm; Fri-Sat 11am-10:30pm; Sun 10am-9:30pm
Found in the Yellow pages, winner of best Japanese restaurant for numerous years. Entering the restauraunt there was no ambience, nothing inviting. Tables with grills for Tappan cooking. The cook had no entertainment style, he did not entertain. Geez I thought that was the purpose of this style of cooking. The food was flavorless. The sushi was weak, non impressive. Speak of the service, wow in Monterey, this restaurant would not last very long at all. Drinks were no offered and when we ordered they were not brought to us. Whoever has voted this restaurant #1 in the years running, surely must be fast food junkies. One last point the Cook forgot to include the sprouts in the vegetables.
Zingo's Cafe is more of a diner with an attached bar, but I won't be picky about their name. We stopped in for dinner during our one night in Bakersfield and were disappointed to find that the diner side of the place didn't have beer. They said we could eat at the bar, and we agreed. Walking from the busy, brightly lit diner to the dark, quiet bar with the biker bartender (named Papa Bear), we were uneasy at first, but after a few beers felt right at home.
The friendly waitress (Jammi) told us the cook had made some great chile verde and she recommended that on their house burritos. We agreed and were very happy with the meal. We each had one huge burrito with lettuce, tomato, and onion along with a side of rice, all served with the tasty green chile. The burritos were just $6 each and the beers were about $2.75 apiece.
Love this place and location. It is in the Market Place off of the Ming Avenue down by the Edwards Cinema Theatre. It is not a large restaurant, but has a wonderful covered patio to enjoy the outdoors and people watch. It is near the hub-bub of hang out by the theatre. Lots of wonderful and beautiful landscaping and a wonderful fountain to enjoy too!
Happy Hours Mon-Friday 3:00pm-6:00pm
Kareoke: Every Thursday Night 9:00pm-Midnight
Favorite Dish: I have enjoyed the Carne Asada, which is a huge steak with enchiladas, rice, beans and all other kinds of fixings. Great food here!
