We are far from a big city. We have a beautiful park just off Ralston and El Camino called Twin Pines Park. It was built back in the 1860's as a German beer garden for folks in the City to come to during the summer months. The Ralston house and the Belmont historical society also contain interesting facts about Belmont's past. Check out www.belmont.gov

http://www.divinobelmont.com - Authentic Italian cuisine FINALLY arrives in Belmont! Everyone I've taken, and those that I know who have gone, agree this restaurant is FANTASTIC! The ambience is lovely.
The photos on their website don't do it justice. They also own Bacco Ristorante in San Francisco.

There are many. Ausiello's pub is great but you cant beat the pizza at Marvin Gardins and the salads at Max's deli are enormous. Van's is the place to take a date or anyone you want to share a great view and warm atmosphere.
Easy to get around. Caltrain comes right through Belmont from SF and soon the SF airport BART connection. Its very safe and friendly. Its a locals town with a friendly atmosphere.
Favorite Dish: Give me an Ausiello's burger anytime. The steaks at Van's are also excellent.

Belmont is only one exit off the 101 Freeway. If you know where Oracle's headquarters is, we are West of Redwood shores. If you come by train, its quiet easy on CalTrain. We have great bus service as well that is based at the train station.

There are no true 'traps' in Belmont since we are a small town of about 26,000. Check out the hotel/motel ratings before you come. There are several small motels that look somewhat dumpy but they are much cheaper than the large chains if your on a budget. They are all quite safe.

Favorite thing: Take it slow and visit the Ausiellos pub across from the train station. Friendly folks and great food complement this casual sports bar.
Fondest memory: The beautiful grounds of the College of Notre Dame. Also a drive up Ralston Ave through Belmont will take you to the Crystal Springs resivor. Is a prestine area with beautiful pine, cypress, oak and redwoods.
