These are always up for debate on which has the best slice of Pizza. Well, if you are from Europe or the East Coast, you will probably say neither, but...
They are both on Telegraph Ave, a block or two down from the University (Blondie’s on your right, and Fat Slice on your left)
I tend to usually go to Blondie’s. If nothing else, it has been a staple in the world of Berkeley.
Favorite Dish: Blondie's - slice or pepperoni and lemonade.

When people ask, “What are some of my favorite foods?” and one of my responses is “Ethiopian.” – Why do they usually look surprised? Well, it is. If you are looking for something light, this is not the place. Traditionally, when you order arrives, everyone’s dish is placed communally on a big round “serving tray” and you eat with your hands by picking up your food with a flat pancake type of bread. (I apologize I forget the names of everything) Of course, this promotes everyone eating other’s food. This can be messy or even romantic - whichever - it is fun!
If you like Middle Eastern or Indian food, give this a try.
My favorite Ethiopian restaurants are/were in Adams Morgan (Washington DC), but this place is worth checking out.
closed on Mondays
Favorite Dish: They have two main combo plates. Each one incorporates about half of the main courses. So if you order one of each, you have a little of everything.

The Thai House, on Channing just east of Telegraph. Although the service is often slow and meals can be expensive, this is the best place in the vicinity of the university to enjoy incredible Thai cuisine. Great curry dishes and tofu basil entrees.

Intermezzo. Delicious sandwiches and salads; not too expensive (less than $5 for a very filling sandwich). Great vegetarian options.
Favorite Dish: The Vegetarian - a sandwich stuffed with sprouts, cream cheese, guacamole, tomatoes, and other veggies and served with a slice of pineapple.

Favorite former haunt, no longer in existence--Narsai's in the Kensington hills. You will be thrilled with the Pasand restaurant located
on Shattuck Avenue. Authentic Indian curry, chapatti, mango chutney to die for. After hours check out Mr. E's Jazz Club which has relocated to Alameda UPDATE: Mr. E's new location, 2203 Mariner's Square Loop, Alameda(go thru the Alameda Tube)...Latin jazz fusion and Salsa sounds weekends. Mr. E is Pete Escovedo, the lovely Sheila Escovedo's proud papá, and a veteran Salsa/Latin Jazz fusion giant in his own right.
Atmosphere conducive to clever reparte. Engaging waiters, lovely hostesses and handsome maitre d'. Fragrant kitchen, aromatic delights. Friendly and efficient service.
Favorite Dish: Everything, be adventuresome try the exotic, if only once. Like forbidden fruit, if you've tasted it, you'll be tempted again.

won Thai on University. Good family, Thai food. Mark the owner remembers customers by name after one or two visits. The sauces are excellent. Not fancy, crowded or expensive.
Mark hadn't seen a customer is 5 years and he remembered his name and what he loved to eat. A great place to take kids. The ambience doesn't seem foreign and my son gets a special plate and cup each visit.
Favorite Dish: Every curry is fabulous, as is the Hana Man Klung Foon (sp). The spinach leaf appetizer is great.

This burger joint has been around for decades. It is about as healthy and nutritious as you would expect from a big burger and malt. And just as delicious.
