B's Boathouse Bar is located on Big Bear Lake. Not near, mind you, ON the lake! They have live music, pool tables, karaoke, private beaches, boat docks, plenty of parking, football, you name it! The bar is on of the only places in Big Bear where you don't get that "touristy" feeling. Locals and tourists alike dine at the restaurant, B's Backyard BBQ, which serves up some great pulled pork. Local band "Plethora" played on New Years, what fun! We got to listen to music from all eras of rock, classic to modern, danced till we could not dance anymore and had a blast. There was supposed to be a cover charge, but I guess the owner, John, decided against it at the last minute. We hope to be there for the 4th of July as they have the best spot on the lake to see fireworks (according to pics on Yelp) and are hoping for a repeat of a great time. Oh, yes, did I mention that on Saturdays and Sundays they have $3 Bloody Mary's?

There isn't much in the way of nightlife in Big Bear. Everything tends to close early, and despite the large numbers of tourists who crowd the area in winter and summer, there are no real nightclubs and most of the bars are located in restaurants.
Chad's Place is as close as you're going to get to nightlife here, but it's not for everyone. Located right in the heart of the village, Chad's Place is a dark pub with pool tables, big screen TVs showing sports and a large bar serving beer and mixed drinks. It can seem a little too dark and dingy at times, but it's not a bad meeting spot for some drinks.
Dress Code: This place is very casual. T-shirts and jeans are fine.

My favorite choice for a night on the town would have to
include 'The Prospector's' near Lakeview Drive. They have
a wonderful view of the lake at night. Live Music, dancing,
dinner and cocktails...in a really happy atmosphere. Once,
while with an outspoken friend of mine, Joan, we introduced
ourselves to Mark & Brian, who are well known KLOS radio DJs
in Los Angeles, and really nice, nice guys! Hoody-hoo~ I was even able to get a copy of the restraunt menu with their
autographs! (actually the only autographs I own!)
Other nightspots consist of 'Chad's Place', which is typically a biker hangout and basically a beer bar which
possibly has live entertainment on weekends.
Dress Code: Prospector's has a shirt with a collar requirement, if I am
recalling correctly. (I think that was an issue once!)
