Stores are 2 - 3 mile drive past Big Bear Village further down Rte. 18. Definitely better then the local "markets" and convenience stores in the Vilage itself.
What to buy: You can pick up Sleds at either the Vons or the Kmart.

Kitchen n' Things is my favorite shop in Big Bear. This tiny store sells kitchen items and gourmet foods and is always one of the most crowded stores in the village. This might be because they have numerous trays of free samples (jellies and jams, dips and spreads, cheesecake, cider and juices, cookies...) or it might be because the store smells so amazing (like hot apple cider!) but it might also be because they have great products.
What to buy: Whenever I go to Kitchen n' Things I make sure to buy some of the wonderful jams they sell there. Their BEST product, however, is the winter cider they sell. I believe it's called a wassail and it's located in the back left corner of the store. This stuff is amazing and it makes your whole house smell incredible when you brew it.
