I spent the afternoon at Bodie State Park just north of Lee Vining, California off highway 395. It’s about 150 miles from Reno. In the old mining hall (the current museum), there are two hearse. The retired teacher/museum worker said it isn’t “hearses” but “hearse”. My spell checker says otherwise.
The woman said that when they were moved into the museum, the doors slammed shut. They open inwards, of course, and the wind should have kept the doors open. There is a picture of the second hearse on this web page, as well as some other ghost stories from Bodie.
Favorite thing: House numbers are located at front of every houses...All numbers are in brass gold, you have to look down because numbers are on piece of wood pulled on the ground.
