    Be prepared for the weather

by mikelisaanna Written Jul 26, 2011

Bodie lies at a high altitude in the desert. As a result, it gets bright sun during the day, but can be chilly in the mornings and evenings. We were there in August, and needed windbreakers in the late afternoon. Also make sure that you use sunscreen on your face and any other exposed skin so that you don't get sunberned by the strong desert sun.

    don't walk or drive!

Do not walk or drive into park during closed hours!

We were still strolling the park at about 4:10p.m thus, 10 minutes late to the park closing hour... There were rangers who drive and check the park on time, They warn visitors to leave the park.

Park is open from 8:00 a.m to 7:00 p.m. during summer months and from 8:00 a.m to 4:00 p.m the rest of the year.
