Buena Park Things to Do

  • Knott's Berry Farm

First thing to say about Knottsberry Farm is that it is NOT a Farm! It is an amusement park. It has developed through the years to keep it fun and exciting for little kids, with it's Snoopy Camp and for big kids with it's thrilling amusement park rides. My favorite part of the park is the Ghost Town. Some of the buildings in the Ghost Town were...

Just a few blocks from Knotts Berry Farm is the renovated built Buena Park Downtown (BPD) featuring the magnificent Krikorian Movie Theater, stronghold retail giant Wal Mart, bargain-savvy Ross, Bed Bath and Beyond, numerous eateries and smaller stand-alone stores. It is ordinary but I recommend going there if you dislike huge mall crowds and want...

  • Go to Knott's-- It's Not a Dud!

Well, if you particularly enjoy roller coasters and don't care so much for Disney nostaglia, you should enjoy Knott's Berry Farm. Here, there is some charm in the old park setting (featuring the Independence Hall building from the BP main page) and a small promenade area (both outside of the park where the actual rides are) for leisure...

Walk the plank if you dare!Ok, so many say that this dinner show is horrible and to go to Medieval Times. Take it from me who has frequented Medieval Times shows in Florida, Texas and California, the Pirate Dinner Adventure is a show to rival Medieval Times. When you first arrive, you are ushered through a buffet of fruit, seafood and other snacks....

If you've seen Cable Guy starring Jim Carrey and Matthew Broderick, then you're familiar with this place... if not... read on! This is a restaurant/show type place. Basically you get to eat medieval themed food while watching knights jousting and fighting each other. It may sound a bit hokey, but its actually a lot of fun. Upon entering this place,...

Their claim to fame is that they are America's 1st theme park. Yes, even I have been a snoopy fan since I was four years old and I'm glad that he & his other Peanuts friends have their very own theme park. I also enjoy buying their food products, most especially the spreads and the chicken. Of course, the shirts and other souvenirs are also very,...

Knott's Scary Farm is ranked among the very best Halloween events in the entire world, so I had high hopes when I decided to go for the first time this year (2006)I thought the crowd would be minimal since I decided to go the second weekend it was open in early October, but wow was I wrong! There were still thousands of people there with most of...

The Silver Bullet is the newest ride at Knott?s Berry Farm and what a ride it is.The Silver Bullet is one of the sit down, feet hanging rides that do two loops and two or three cork screws all at about 50 to 70 miles per hours. It is one of the smoothest rides I have ever been on which made it a nice ride.

1093 AD is the time, you are one of a thousand guests of the royal family, at a royal tournament. Feast on a hearty four course banquet served medieval style. • Come to Chicago via Buena Park

If you have a weakness for Chicago-style grub but are stuck in southern California, head off to Portillo's. If you are on a diet- stay clear of this place. Well, you may manage to eat healthy here in this Chicago-style eatery by having half of the unique, monster salads. But this is no place to think about calories and sat fat counting. Portillo's...

TT is what Americans may call a "gourmet fast food" place. If you want good grub in your tummy instead of typical greasy hamburgers offered at substandard fast food chains, come here at this tiny Buena Park hole-in-the-wall. It's not really what I'd consider a restuarant. The decor and surroundings are not fancy at all. But here, food is all that...

Buena Park Transportation

Forget the Alamo. That's in Texas.

Keep in mind about Metro route 460 if you're visiting L.A. and want to get to a few theme parks and fun attractions without a car. From Downtown L.A., the 460 begins and then heads off on the freeway eventually into Orange County. In O.C. , you can visit Knott's Berry Farm here in Buena Park, and also see Disneyland in Anaheim. These two major southern California attractions can be reach just with this one bus route! Get specific route info on the website!

Usually, the wait time for the bus is 30 min in Buena Park. The time is longer during the night, especially on a Sunday (up to an hour or so). For my experience, the bus is on time or just a little behind. The cost of travel from county to county (LA to OC, OC to LA) is 2.25 one way.

In general, it is wise to get the MTA day pass for $5.00 for multiple bus trips during the day. You'll have to pay an extra dollar if going from any point in OC to downtown LA- because of the in-between freeway service provided!

Soak City USA- Buena Park, CA

by marinarena Updated Feb 1, 2011

A good way to refresh yourself in the area without going to the beach. The original Knott's Berry Farm offers a seasonal treat with their Soak City USA, a 13 acre water park, featuring water slides, wave beach a rafting area and more. It's good fun even if the beach is cheaper. For those who are not so close to the beach, it may be more enjoyable. You should spent a few hours there , I'd say no more than 3 hrs.

Unique Suggestions: Go after 3 PM if it's still sunny outside. The admission price is reduced then. When I visited, the price was $14 for an adult ( I believe the kids' price was $10 or a little less). Check website for current prices.
