Built in the California Mission style using original roof tiles from the missions. The station is still in use with commuunter trains to San Francisco and San Jose (well worth avoiding the car traffic)

  • Our friendly local italian coffee house...

There are a million reasons to come here if you're stopping through or are resting up overnight at SFO. This is the place to get your cup o' joe, meet a friend, do some business (free wifi!), or socialize. While most cafes with a Starbucks accross the street eventually succumb to the pressure as business slows, Il Piccolo keeps going strong....

The theme of the night was Spain so Spanish food was in order. I normally get my fix of Spanish food at Taco Bell but this stuff is a lot better.

  • Delicious Ice Cream

This is one of my favorite places to stop and get an ice cream. This place has been around forever and has a very friendly atmosphere. The ice cream is very high quality and I think some of it may even be "home made". They have a large selelction of hard and chocolate candies too. My favorite ice cream at Preston's is the Maple Nut. I don't think...

Not fancy, nor high priced. Just a great cup of coffee in a small indoor space (three tables). Mostly a take-out service. Fine Coffee roasted daily. In the Bay Area there is a coffee shop on every street corner. This place uses Panama's La Torcaza hand selected coffee beans.

If you're invited to someone's place for dinner, it's always a nice idea not to show up empty handed. So a bottel of wine makes a nice gift. I wish I had thought of this.

Parking for cars is a problem. The parking meters are sometimes two hour maximum, but also 20 minute maximum, so make certain you know how much time you have as the parking meters are intermingled. Parking meters only accept quarters.

Be careful driving El Camino Real. The left lanes have no protected left turns, so traffic grinds to a halt and cars will jump to the other lane without notice. There are accidents due to this several times each day.

Clothing/Shoes/Weather Gear: Light jacket for night. Latest expensive fashion is a must. NO JEANS NO MATTER HOW EXPENSIVE/NICE.

    Photo Equipment: Prices are HIGH!

Miscellaneous: Dress in your very best designer outfits. The better you dress, the better you will be treated. Money talks.
