Children are welcome to run through the rows of flowers as their parents stroll along enjoying the beauty of nature.
Ranunculus known as Tecolote is the flower that started it all and now they have added other lovely varieties to the mix.

The Carlsbad Flower Fields
Take yourself out of the ordinary and spend a few hours in one of nature's wonders. A place where kids can run and adults can linger (50 acres of extraordinary color in bloom on a hillside overlooking the Pacific Ocean). For over sixty years, Mother Nature has transformed the rolling hills of North San Diego County into one of the most spectacular and coordinated displays of natural color and beauty anywhere in the world. The flowers are in bloom from March through early May. This annual burst of color, which has become part of the area's local heritage, is also one of nature's official ways of announcing the arrival of spring here in Southern California.
